What projects *didn't* you make in Rust?

On this subreddit, people often show off things they built in Rust. But the opposite question might be more useful. What projects did you choose not to make in Rust, and why? Projects you either moved to another language, or abandoned entirely?

I'll start. My best project is a visualization of the curved spacetime around a planet. Rust is my favorite language, and I did prototype this project in Rust. But I eventually chose to write it in Elm, for three reasons.

  1. Elm provides a simple architecture for building webapps. In Rust, I would have had to either make a choice between several frameworks, or use raw JS bindings.
  2. The library elm-ui makes it easy to create a nice user interface. I am unaware of anything similar for Rust+WASM, so I would have been forced to deal with HTML and CSS.
  3. In my experience, using WebGL from Rust has always been a pain. On the other hand, using WebGL from Elm is always either really nice, or completely impossible. For this project, it was the former.
