Rust and C

I’m still on the basics of Rust learning because it’s not a work thing (just spare time and I like the pub too). But I’d like it to be a work thing.
However, a lot of my day is spent in c/c++ frequently calling win32 specific apis.
I know rust can call C (and assume vice versa) but would you recommend it for heavy use with windows specific of APIs?

Would I be just creating a lot of work for myself just so that I can write the bulk of the codebase in Rust?
