My dilemma: Rust... Or something else(python,c,c++)?
Hi all, I'm struggling with an internal dilemma at the moment and have been for the last month or so, having a hard time deciding between C, C++, or Rust I was a CS major in college but had to drop out due to health issues and I stopped programming all together for the last 4 years. Long story short I'm getting back into the learning process again without attending Uni. At Uni we focused heavily on C and C++ which is what I've picked back up, but I started doing some research on languages and ran across Rust. Rust interests me because of it's features (safety, and security) and because it's a new language as well as the fact that it seems to be able to accomplish what C++ is able to.
I'm wanting to focus on a language for the next 6 months to a year to become more proficient and I can't decide between the 3. My interests are mainly in desktop applications, 2d/3d multiplayer games without using an engine, as well as learning some Web design stuff on the front and backend. My uncle is encouraging me to learn the Blazer/WebAssembly framework but I have no intest in C# but I would like to contribute to his projects.
TL;DR I was a prior CS student at a Uni near me but dropped out due to health. I'm picking programming back up and recently found Rust and but cannot decide which language route to initially go between C/C++/Rust.
Edit: it's been 4 years since I was in college, but I spent the majority of my college career (the greater part of 3 years) learning C and C++. It's been a while since I've touched any programming but mostly refamiliarizing myself with C has been like getting back on a bike. I am also NOT looking or gunning for a job anytime in the near future.
