What are some example programs that I should include with my upcoming Rust GUI library in order to show that it's ready for use?
I'm currently working on a Rust GUI library for desktop. When I release it, I'd like to do so with some example programs that both help new users understand how to use the library, and, more importantly¹ to demonstrate to people looking for a GUI library for their next project that mine has the needed capabilities. It's also useful to have some screenshots to spread around.
As such, I'd like to ask two questions:
- What capabilities should be demonstrated?
- What example programs would you like to see to demonstrate those capabilities? I prefer something where the bulk of the program is GUI such that I'm not getting bogged down solving some non-GUI problem while making an example program.
My current ideas for the sample programs are a file browser (explorer clone) to show layout and composing widgets together into new ones and a (very) simple paint-like drawing program to show file browsing (open, save, etc.) and fully custom widgets (the drawing area), but I do not I think that this is is enough.
1: There is other documentation that is primarily there to help with understanding.
