Compute Shaders and Rust - looking for some guidance.
A am looking to do some linear algebra in Rust and have ran into some issues with my current linear algebra library Arrayfire. As such I am looking for a Rust shader implementation that can work as an alternative. I am inexperienced, though not new to the idea of shaders and what they are capable of. I am looking for some suggestions or feedback on some of the requirements I have and am curious if others have heard of a product or technology that can help.
The ideal solution should have:
- The technology would preferably be write once, run anywhere. I have seen a few shader implementations that run on CUDA exclusively - this is a deal breaker as I only have AMD GPU's.
- Something with solid documentation/examples, preferably written for C, C++ or Rust.
- Minimal boilerplate, If possible. I hope to not have to write 1000 lines of code before I can execute my first shader.
- Efficiency is paramount.
If something like this exists for rust right now, I would love to hear about it.
