bevy_backroll v0.3.0 is now available.
https://crates.io/crates/bevy_backroll
This release massively improves the ergonomics of using Backroll for implementing rollback networking into Bevy:
- No user facing generics during app setup. No more turbofishes!
- No more Backroll config type to parameterize all of Backroll's generics.
bevy_backrollnow provides one. All you need to do is bring your own input struct type. - No more user provided save states. bevy_backroll supports component/resource registration for automatically saving/loading Bevy World state. Only caveat is that any registered resource or component must implement
Clone. Any changes during game simulation will be automatically saved to Backroll's buffers and restored upon rollback. - bevy_backroll rollback state saving/loading is fully parallelized now. Every saved resource and component type has a dedicated save/load system that runs completely in parallel. No exclusive systems involved.
