Announcing: ImageSieve, a tool to assist in sorting and archiving images and videos

I would like to announce my first ever Rust project, a GUI based tool to help sorting, categorizing and archiving images. It startet as a tool to serve a personal need (and the desire to learn Rust) and ended up in a program that might also help others. It has now, after a few months of work, reached a sufficient level of maturity (I hope).

It was a really enjoyable experience learning this new language and I never regretted choosing Rust instead of C++. On the contrary, especially thread handling proved to be pretty straightforward and hassle-free.

I absolutely loved all the crates available that made my life very simple in many cases. I used (among others) the slint ui framework, kamadak-exif, img\_hash, fast\_image\_resize and rawloader.

From a technical point of view, I found a special challenge in generating a 3x3 preview image from video files using FFmpeg, reducing the FFmpeg DLL sizes for Windows and creating an Ubuntu Snap package and MSI/MSIX for Windows - apart from all the challenges that come from learning Rust in the first place.

I'd appreciate your feedback or ideas for improvement!
