Async-rdma v0.2 : A lib for writing high-throughput, low-latency networking apps simply
What is it and why make it?
Async-rdma is a framework for writing RDMA applications with high-level abstraction and asynchronous APIs.
Check this post if you want to know more about this library and RDMA.
What's new?
In this release, the code related to memory region has been reorganized.
This change makes the abstraction more explicit and easy to maintain later.
Implement memory region slice. LocalMrSlice and RemoteMrSlice enable us to operate on
part of memory region. And we can only get one mutable slice or many unmutable slices at the
same time, just like any other type in rust.
Some new APIs for RDMA operations with immediate data were added. And we also
fixed some bugs, which made the lib more stable.
ChangeLog contains a brief summary of changes for each release, and you can check it for more details.
Want to contribute?
There are currently two tasks that do not require a very in-depth understanding of RDMA or this project, but only the APIs and Rust languages.
Therefore, it is friendly for those who want to get started to contribute, and the community will also provide guidance and help.
tasks
- Add tests. Including unit testing, stress testing, performance testing, etc. to identify potential problems and help performance tuning.
- Provides more configuration interfaces. Some of the current configuration parameters are default values and no user-defined interface has been given.
