Easiest web api framework?

Hi all!

I've played around with rust before and made a backend for a react app I've made for tracking scores in a boardgame me and my family play a fair bit. At the time I used rocket (v0.5 I think) and thought it was a bit too difficult to return json or http error codes. It's possible that I just didn't understand what I should do, and it's possible that I'm so used to how easy it is in .NET that I thought I was doing things wrong.

I will at some point soon return to improve the app, and I might look to replace or at least rewrite it. If I choose to replace the web api, are there any suggestions on what framework to use? My goal is that it's async friendly and I can return json/http status codes. If the recommendation is to stick with rocket, then I'll see if I can find out how I'm meant to do this :p.
