Dexios v8.1.0 Release!

105 points brxken128

v8.1.0 of my command-line encryption tool, Dexios, has been released!

You can find it on Github: https://github.com/brxken128/dexios

Dexios is fast, secure, and uses authenticated encryption algorithms to ensure the integrity of your data. There's support for XChaCha20-Poly1305, AES-256-GCM and (as of v8.1.0) Deoxys-II-256.

This is a huge step up from v7.x.x versions, as encrypted file headers have finally been standardized!. This means your files will always be backwards-compatible, and always supported.

I'd love to hear the community's thoughts, ideas, or any criticism of my project. This is the first production-ready thing I have ever made in Rust, and it's been a long month of work to get things just how they should be. I plan to provide support, updates, patches (where necessary) and optimizations to both the performance of Dexios, and the codebase.

The technical details page of the Wiki goes into specifics about how things are done, and the Wiki is just filled with general information about the project.
