Erooster a WIP mail suite fully written in rust

Since a few months now I am working on Erooster and while it isn't yet a release I think its sensible to mention it already as it is reaching a point where it is mostly usable.

What is erooster?

It is a rust server implementing Imap4rev2 and SMTP.

How far is it progressing?

While it can't yet do all the important commands (namely missing are the fetch and append imap commands) it can receive and send emails since yesterday from k9 or thunderbird to Google and postfix servers.

It can also do the folder structures and safes it as maildir folders.

It also brings a cli to manage users.

Why are you making yet another mail suite?

Well there are a few reasons:

• Postfix and Dovecot have very complex configurations
• rust mostly has clients for mail but not many servers
• I wanted a challenge
• I want to provide a single binary server that's easy to use

What is missing/planned?

• Some imap commands
• dkim support
• A Web interface and api for managing it. (kinda like mailu)
• probably stuff I am not yet aware of being needed ;)
