Rwlock vs Mutex? Please, tell me like I'm 5

I've read the documentation on Mutex and Rwlock, but I'm still not sure on the advantages of one over the other (or essentially when I should use which).

For what I've read, Rwlock locks the threads only when writing, whereas Mutex always.
So, why isn't Rwlock the best option on most cases?
