If you could turn back the time, would you fix Vec's remove to return an Option instead of panic in case of out-of-bound index?

I think I would.

I was trying to figure out why VecDeque remove returns an Option, while Vec panics, in case of a bad index. And I ended up some nice discussion in Github.

I think back then, maybe it made sense to just panic, after all all languages do something similar. But I think nowadays in Rust, panic is something that should be avoided if it can, so it would make more sense to return an Option, am I right ?
