Rust libraries to build a compiler for my language?

Hi everyone, I'm currently following the last chapter of Crafting Interpreters, which helps you build a VM for the lox language, using Rust. I'm quite overwhelmed by the amount of literature that exist regarding compilers, the book tries its best to be beginner-friendly already, but yet I'm slowly digesting the information.

So I wonder: which library should I use to help me with the heavy lifting? How Codegen differs from Just-in-time Compilation? As a beginner, which one should I implement? I would appreciate any further help or orientation. Thanks in advance.
