Handy linux webcam app (w/egui ❤️)
I made an app in order to try out egui and was pleasantly surprised by how nice the experience was.
The result is KissCam 📷 , a webcam photo app which allows you to adjust all the image settings supported by your hardware and exposed by V4L. These settings carry over into other apps, so you can tune your webcam before joining a google meet, for example.
One interesting quick is that because the controls are potentially hardware-dependent, the egui widgets in the sidebar are procedurally generated based on the available controls, rather than defined explicitly. This makes the app more flexible and simpler (\~300 lines).
