Please don't downvote honest questions
I've seen this happen quite a few times here, and it really bugs me: Questions that seem silly or dumb to some users get downvoted a lot.
There are no dumb questions. Something that seems obvious to you might not be obvious to someone else. People have different backgrounds and different levels of expertise, and we don't want to discourage anyone from asking questions and learning new things.
By downvoting the questions, they also lose visibility, so fewer people with valuable insights will see them and respond. "Dumb" questions can be more nuanced and interesting than they initially seem, and often the best answer would be helpful for many people.
