EVA ICS industrial automation platform has been rewritten in Rust
Good day everyone,
EVA ICS v4 has been released in September this year and is the world-first industrial automation platform, written in Rust.
We have spent more than a year working on v4 and finally it goes to production (our primary customers are mostly in high-energy sector). With Rust it has got about 100x speed improvements in comparison to Python-based v3 (with a few Rust-based Fieldbus connectors).
As a team lead and a product architect, I would like to express my respect to the whole Rust community and Rust contributors, who make the impossible possible.
EVA ICS stays open-source (except a few services, available in the Enterprise pack only). Next year we are planning to integrate own Fieldbus solutions for real-time PLC applications, based on Rust SDK, developing the capabilities of Rust in the world of industrial automation.
