What crates are considered as de-facto standard?

So, on my journey into playing with Rust I have been looking through commonly used crates to build a mental map of the "de-facto standard" crates. By "de-facto standard" I mean crates that you would see being used by most, if not all, projects without being part of STD (altho they may eventually find their way into std). A parallel in other languages would be something like "fmt" or "asio" in C++, "jQuery" in JS, etc.

So far i can see these:

  • serde
  • itoa
  • log
  • once_cell (now part of nightly)
  • fnv
  • rand
  • libc
  • doc_comment
  • autocfg (?)
  • syn & quote (used together)

Are there any other de-facto standard crates that you know of (either application-specific or general-purpose)?
