Newbie Rust Appreciation Moment
I'm very new to Rust, and I just wanted to share a moment of appreciation that I had just now. I watched this video by No Boilerplate and decided to try writing some code using that approach.
I pasted in a Fibonacci calculation function that I created in python a while ago to practice recursion and memoization and just did what the compiler told me to. It didn't give me help suggestions for every single error, but the errors were helpful enough that even with my extremely basic understanding of Rust I was able to fully convert my Python code into Rust!
I think this was the first time I think I have ever written ANY code (aside from something super trivial like "hello world" or something) without having to google something, even in a language I feel comfortable with like Python, and I think that's a huge testament to Rust's user-friendliness! I am really looking forward to further learning this language!
