I LOVE RUST ERRORS!
this is a bit of a rant and also a bit of love for rust. I am a JavaScript developer, and as per the stereotype I use JavaScript for all sorts of things it's not supposed to be used for. Some of you will be familiar with the errors you get on JavaScript;
error on line 43,
<gibberish>
throw new error ("....")
^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^
<more gibberish>
while it feels like rust understands what I am trying to do, and actually gives sensible errors.
I can write pure JavaScript and after a few attempts it will eventually help me write rust code that works and I love it!
I was looking for a backend language to go along with my JavaScript and really all my options were Go and Rust. Go seemed better at first, it was easier for me to understand and felt like if python and js had a kid. But after using it for a while I realise it irritated me alot. The compiler would stop because of unused variables etc. and it felt like in Go there was one right way of doing things and in most cases that was the Google way.
While in rust, the compiler seems to support you instead of critisicing you.
Thanks rust.
