A new ORM and QueryBuilder for Rust
Hello everyone, and Merry Christmas!
Today, the Zero Day Code members have published after many months of hard work and learning, the first release of Canyon-SQL, version 0.1.0.
Canyon-SQL is a new ORM in the Rust ecosystem, arrived to make the developer's life easier.
Canyon is heavily based on the Rust macro system, allowing, with a minimum amount of code and also a minimum configuration, to read and write data, modify the structure of tables, columns, constraints... in any supported database (in this initial release, PostgreSQL and MSSQL).
All provided public APIs are fully async.
Canyon also allows the use of multiple connections to multiple databases, even if they are different database engines.
Finally, we have included in this release as an experimental and incomplete feature, migrations, which synchronize the specifications applied procedurally to your Rust data models with the DB entity metadata. No need to invoke it from command line, with a simple annotation you will let Canyon know that it should take care of your models!
Please note that this is a 0.1.0 version. There is still a lot of work ahead. We have many plans for Canyon. There is still much to write, to refactor, to optimize, to design and to implement. A lot of things to fix, in short. But we are delighted to have reached this point.
We also would like to everyone who wants to contribute, to join in. Everyone is welcome!
