Should I abandon my monorepo?

Hello! I'm currently working on a kernel, and am making various no_std libraries that the kernel uses, along with a few user-land tools. The reason I'm doing this instead of just putting it in one crate is because I'll probably want to use the other crates by themselves later, and for compilation speedups.

So far, I have a kernel crate, an x86\_64 CPU-programming crate, an x64 CPU-programming crate, a symbol table format translator (ldd to my own format, bap), a decompression library, and hopefully, soon, a pared down command line argument and TOML parser.

I know that other people have already built these tools, but I'm trying to build everything myself. I've learned lots already, it seems invaluable.

Anyways, my question is should I keep everything still in one repository? Is the "overhead" worth it to split it into separate repositories (e.g. pushing changes whenever I need something new from, for example, the x86\_64 grate)? I know monorepos are generally looked down upon here, so I figured I'd ask.
