Is anyone else excited about the foundations of Cosmic DE advancing maturity of UI in Rust?

This project seems really amazing:

  • Production grade Rust wayland compositor for System 76 laptops via Pop OS
  • Actively using iced for UI
  • Contributing many open source contributions to foundational Rust projects?

I'm not much of a Linux historian, but I have to imagine technology like Gtk was advanced heavily because of desktops like Gnome. I wonder if this has implications on iced's future?
