Rust has given me an escape hatch from web development fatigue

I've been a PHP programmer for a decade and althought I am quite fluent in C/C++, I have not worked on them profesionally. Over the last year, I have gained some interest in Rust, to the point that I wanted to overcome the pain of learning it.

Over the last years I have seen the rise of really bad software. I see and have seen a lot of so called "influencers" in twitter and youtube advertising code techniques and patters that are not good. I am really burned out from the javascript fatigue. I do also code typescript and over the last 3 years I have learned more tools and frameworks than in 10 years with PHP / C / C++. It's mindblowing how I can create a compiler with little more than a standard library yet you need to have 1000 npm packages, a framework, some metaframework, some transpiler a bundler and a dev server to write some decent web frontend nowadays. Not to mention everybody seems to just want to use the so called "serverless" for auth, hosting, databases, et al. I just can't. People seem lazy, and unable to understand how things work. I see patterns I don't like, I see code I don't like, I see a lot of followers for it and I just can't understand anything that is going on. I burned out.

Then I started coding more and more with Rust for fun and... learning Rust has given me hope in good and reliable software, again. I can see good patterns in Rust. I can see clear code in Rust, I can see good documentation in Rust, good code formating, little code smells (it's even hard due the compiler), the community is really welcoming (on discord at least) and really aspire to help, even improving code samples I have given.

I want to move forward, but do it right. Rust is growing and I love the web (infrastructure, protocols, etc). I don't want to give up. I was going to a destination I knew I liked, I was just not going with the right vehicle.

Thank you.
