Human Regex hits 0.3!
Hello everyone!
Seeing as cmccomb hasn't made a post here about this yet (and maybe won't, he seems like a busy guy!) I've decided to announce that Human Regex, the human readable RegEx library for Rust, has reached 0.3. With this release we've finished implementing all the major functionality in the core Rust regex library. You can now build up any regex pattern in a readable way that your co-contributors can understand.
You can check out the example usage and features in the repository readme, as well as the cookbook.
Currently I plan to completely overhaul the type system, as right now it is essentially a fancy string templating library. This is okay, but it could definitely be better. I envision having a nice assortment of types, such as BracketedExpression which all implement Into<HumanRegex>, as well as appropriate traits like Negatable. This would allow for completely type-safe, compile-checked regex, as well as allowing users to do things that regex can't, such as have a single, unified way to negate any expression that can be negated (instead of a smattering of ways to negate things, like \\w vs \\W, [] vs [\^], [[::]] vs [[:\^:]], etc). For now I hope you all find the project interesting!
