Emerging Technologies: Rust in HPC

About two weeks ago there was a post about a EuroCC Technical Report comparing Rust, Fortran, and C in an example HPC task (fluid simulations). While there was some discussion about the conclusions made it was widely agreed that without example code they were unsupported and at least potentially flawed (and IMO if they are correct then that information is invaluable for supporting Rust in HPC). I reached out to the authors about that they said they'd work on getting the code available to people. Today they responded with a GitHub link! Unfortunately the person who posted the report here (not the author) was rather aggressive and the thread has been locked so I'm making a new thread to update people who were curious about the code.

I'm not even remotely qualified to comment on the C or Fortran code and I'm not very familiar with Rayon in Rust.
