How to Perform Unit Tests for an Embedded Application with esp-rs on ESP32-C3

I've been working on an embedded application using esp-rs
for the ESP32-C3. I managed to get it up and running, but I'm having trouble finding resources on how to perform unit tests for my project. Since the esp-rs
dependencies are configured, I am unable to compile it to my local architecture for testing purposes.

I have been searching online for solutions or resources, but so far, I haven't found anything helpful. It's possible that I might be looking in the wrong places or using the wrong keywords, so I wanted to reach out to the community for guidance.

Has anyone here encountered a similar issue? If so, I would appreciate any advice on how to approach unit testing for embedded applications with esp-rs
