Struggling to find practical uses for Rust
I learned the language a little over a year ago and have written one serious projects and a number of smaller projects with it. Like many, my initial infatuation with Rust got me making contrived use of language when it was far more practical to be using Java or Python.
More recently, I've given up trying to write everything in Rust because it was making everything take significantly longer than it needed to take. Instead I'm practicing algorithm questions with it and still I'm finding it's one of the least productive languages I've written in, probably only second to Swift.
Rust has got a lot of cool things, but for the average developer, there's not that many practical use cases I can think of -- but I also don't want to forget the language. What do you guys normally use Rust for if you're not using it for work?
