I finally got to demonstrate "fearless refactoring" in action!

One of my open source projects was in dire need of some refactoring targeting a core piece of functionality deep down in the internals, with a hard requirement of ensuring there were no breaking changes for end users at the level of the public configuration API surface.

Whenever I talk to people about Rust, I inevitably talk about how safe it feels making refactors in big code bases compared to basically any other language. However, it's kind of difficult to communicate just how much of a game changer this is with just words.

I decided to record the process of going through this refactor to hopefully give people who are interested in Rust a chance to experience this fabled "fearless refactoring" in real time.

I'd love to hear some of your "fearless refactoring" stories, or watch some of your "fearless refactoring" videos if you have any share!
