Is having long functions common in rust?
I work with C# in my day job. At work, we often try to do one thing/concept per function, so you don't get hit with too many details all at once. You can store \~20 lines of code one at a time in your head and understand it.
In rust however, it seems like people have a tendency to write very long functions. I have seen 250 to 300 lines long functions in some libraries, and it's really hard for me to understand it because I have to keep track of 300 lines worth of logic and local variables.
Is this something that you also have encountered?
I assume keeping everything in same function is done for optimization since it avoids an indirection, but can't you just tell the compiler to inline the functions so you don't pay the price for that?
