Should I come back to Rust when I'm better at programming?
I have some basic experience programming (hobby/ 1 year of CS degree) with mainly C++ and a little Python. I want to learn Rust, so I've been doing Leetcode problems. I also use rust-analyzer.
I've sunken 5 hours on 49. Group Anagrams. I've mapped out an idea that works out in my head, using hashmaps for frequency counting and for loops to sort everything. I'm stuck with compiler errors though. I'm frustrated because I know I could turn around and do it quickly with another programming language.
No matter how often I read it, I can't understand what borrowing is. Also, it seems like Rust has different uses for \* and & than what C++ has with addresses/pointers (?). I also keep getting errors about using "moved values" in my for loops.
I might be wrong but I think these have to do with rust's memory safety. I can't wrap my head around the explanations for those concepts. Should I pack up and come back to Rust after I understand programming more? Right now I feel my programming progress is being stunted by trying to learn a new programming language at the same.
