Who hurt this guy?

I've been on a few teams using different mindsets(monolith to agile to startup style MVP grinding) and I feel like this guy is speaking from a very specific niche. Like, of course I wouldn't use rust for something fast if I don't know it, but now that I've spent time with it it's really not that much quicker to mvp? Maybe if it is it's like a day more for every week of coding, not six months?
