Using FFI and C code never ceases to amaze me
How strings and various other aspects of coding in C and C++ are so fragile. Sure, if programmed correctly and robustly, C and C++ code is not fragile, but we are human and using Rust really shows how many mistakes we make.
I think back to using C and C++ now and I just think how many times I've say initialised something with a string and then dropped it or forget to drop, either way 1 can be a seg fault and the other a memory leak.
No matter how good we are we are not machines, and we always will make mistakes, Rust just helps ensure we don't make then and alerts us to our mistakes.
Rust is an absolute godsend; imagine how many lives this will save when used in medical devices, cars and other machinery which can cause serious harm to people. Catching these will literally save lives, and this is just crazy. Thank you, Rust 🦀❤️
