Is there any reason to not build a new game in Rust?
I've seen some posts that talk about how rust isn't suited for making 3D games because its too young or doesn't have the libraries to support it properly. I'm a student in college and want to start a passion project hobby game that's essentially a 3d game only in aesthetic but 2d in function. (Map game around a globe in a solar system eventually).
"everybody pushing ECS is that all the other solutions don't really work well with Rust's ownership concept, traits, and lack of class inheritance. " is what led me to post here
I like where rust is headed and thought a brand new project would be the best way to learn the language but don't want to deal with rewriting it in C++ in a few months when I discover that whatever I want to make cant be done 'efficiently' or would be much too much out of scope.
Should I stick to C++ for this particular project and find something else to work on for the sake of learning Rust or am I ok to pick up Wgpu and start the process?
