Is Rust easier to contribute to?

I have this strong feeling that Rust is easier to contribute to than most other languages. Since everyone is using the same build system and similar project structure, it feels comforting looking at other people's projects. The strict complier also contributes to this belief. But I haven't done much open source contributions, so I don't really know.
