Can We Borrow Scala's Syntax Sugar? π¦β¨
Hello Rustaceans! π¦
I recently transitioned from Scala to Rust, and while I love the Rust journey, there's a piece of Scala I'm nostalgic about β its concise and expressive syntax, especially the placeholder syntax (_) for anonymous functions. Imagine writing vec.iter().map(_.to_uppercase()).collect(); in Rust. Neat, right?
Is this just daydreaming, or is there room for a discussion? Could a minimalist approach to such syntax fit into Rust's ecosystem, or is it a Scala charm best left behind?
Hello, Rustaceans! π¦ thoughts and if anyone else misses other bits of Scala's syntax magic in Rust.
