I am in love with Rust, but I hate that many posted jobs are about coding for crypto scam apps. Should I continue learning Rust regardless?
I have my own personal goals with developing Rust apps - ie creating highly advanced ML models that Python couldn't do better, and further down the line creating a web app that also includes some game and AI elements.
I also would like to find work as a Rust developer but in my country at least (Malaysia) most jobs are either non-existent placeholder jobs posted by third-party recruiters to pool resumes in advance for actual jobs, or (cringe) web3 dev shop jobs.
I absolutely detest everything about crypto and grifting.
Should I proceed with this goal nonetheless? I reckon if I become a terribly good Rust developer and can explore the most advanced AI / operations research analysis / game dev / etc using what this powerful language can offer, I will create my own career opportunities, sooner or later.
