Zellij 0.40 released: welcome-screen, new filepicker, plugin pipes and aliases
Hi fellow Rustaceans,
I'm excited to share this new release with you that I've personally been working on for almost 6 months.
Zellij is a terminal workspace and multiplexer developed in our favorite language, which can also be extended in the same language compiled to webassembly.
This release includes some exciting new user facing features such as the welcome-screen to facilitate session-management and a new friendly filepicker to quickly traverse through your filesystem (both implemented as Rust plugins).
Personally, I'm really excited about a new plugin interface we've added: pipes. Zellij pipes allow communication between plugins and also from the command-line, integrating seamlessly with native shell pipes and even providing flow control. With pipes, I can imagine plugin authors creating data visualization pipelines, notifications in the terminal and lots more amazing stuff.
