Fake downloads on Crates.io?

are there a lot of bots on crates io who download stuff just for fun?

I once created a signed distance function crate... I didnt care about ux or anything it wasnt a product - just a simple hobby thingy after school for a few hours.

but why than does it have almost 2k downloads? Who downloads this?? If these are bot downloads, what bot wants to download this?
