Would it be possible for Rust to get multidimensional arrays as primitive like Fortran?

I'm currently learning Rust and absolutely love the language.

For my work I use Fortran as it is the nicest language to use for handling tensors/matrices. This is especially because of its support for multidimensional arrays.

I wondered if it would be possible to add multidimensional arrays to the language to let me do something like

let mut m : [f64; 3, 3, 3];
m[2, 3, 1] = 3;

or if it's technically impossible?

If it's possible I wonder they something like this isn't in the language? As I don't see any downsides to it. (I guess this is not restricted to rust, since most languages do not support this)
