zero-packet - Release 0.1.0 - A zero-copy library to build and parse network packets in-place.
GitHub: https://github.com/J-Schoepplenberg/zero-packet
Hello!
I have been working on this library for the last few weeks to implement more features and improve the code maturity.
You can now build and parse packets that may contain any of these:
- Ethernet II (optionally with VLAN tagging and double tagging)
- ARP
- IPv4
- IPv6 (optionally with many different extension headers e.g. Authentication Header)
- IP-in-IP (e.g. encapsulation of IPv6 in IPv4)
- ICMPv4
- ICMPv6
- TCP
- UDP
It lets you build quite complex network packets yourself (e.g. extension header chaining). Also, I threw countless pcap sample captures at it and it was able to successfully parse them.
The PacketBuilder uses the typestate pattern to encode valid transitions in the type system at compile time.
Feel free to check it out, leave suggestions or criticism.
Thank you for your attention. :)
