I've finally seen the light, I think I'm done with ORMs

But not for the reason you think.

I use a M2 MacBook Air with 16GB of RAM for developing personal projects. It isn't the most powerful machine in the world, but it's more than powerful enough for what I want to do.

I've been building an app with Tauri over the last few months using Diesel as the ORM and Juniper as my data access layer for the front-end.

My god though, for whatever reason Diesel causes everything to be slow. 6s+ for rust-analyzer in VS Code. 2-3s for auto completion. Builds taking 30s+.

I decided to look for something else and settled on Sqlx. The experience so far has been amazing.

rust-analyzer takes <1s. Auto complete is instant. Builds are blazing fast.

And not to mention the DX. It is so much nicer to work with. Full control over everything I want to do. No dealing with weird esoteric join syntax from diesel.

Just over all a nicer experience.
