Loco.rs v0.9.0 Released: new docs, new website, new features!

187 points jondot1

New docs design! New website design! Visit our new website here - https://loco.rs. We've finally set the start for a really great investment in our documentation and learnability.

We've added a scheduler module, where you can declaratively set your jobs, like cron, but more fun - see the docs.

We've also zoned in on HTMX support, rewrote the templates and now you can generate a full CRUD with HTMX as well as individual controller pages.

Lastly we've streamlined the use of Sqlite and Tokio async for development so that you have almost no dependencies needed to start building on your PC. You build locally on Sqlite, and then move to Postgres in production seamlessly with no code changes -- just like in Ruby on Rails.

Finally we were able to answer the much asked question -- "hows the performance". Benchmarks we made clock us at 55k req/s INCLUDING DB QUERY + full Loco stack and features compiled in, against Node.js 7k (just express.js) and Rails' 4k (an empty app).

Plenty of contributions and fixes since v0.8.0 as well. Go give Loco a ride, it only takes 5 minutes to go from 0 to a fully working CRUD app: https://loco.rs/docs/getting-started/tour/
