My first cargo crate! A linear programming modeling language and solver

Hello! i just wanted to share my first crate.

It's an optimization language that together with solvers is able to solve MILP, binary, integer and real variables models. The language itself can be expanded, adding new functions if needed, and also type checked to verify the correctness of the model.

I've made this mostly to be able to run optimization models directly in the browser with syntax highlight / code completion / hover tooltips and type checking. This way optimization models can become more accessible to more people who might need it.

Optimization models can be used to find the best combination of variables that satisfy certain constraints and maximize or minimize an objective function.

Imagine you run a small factory that makes two types of products: A and B. Each product requires time on two machines, Machine 1 and Machine 2. Your goal is to maximize profit, but you’re limited by how many hours each machine is available each day.
