Do you have a Macbook Air? Can you try timing this build please?

EDIT: I'm not asking you to build/run my code, but the famous open-source project Bevy. If you're concerned, please don't build/run this.

EDIT2: Clearly the M3 MacBook Air is considerably faster than my 8-year old Intel MBP. No surprises there. It's also ~33% faster than a 4 year old "pretty decent" Intel laptop, which is pretty impressive.

If you have a recent M-based MacBook Pro please feel free to play along too - currently the time to beat is 61 seconds...

I'm looking to upgrade an old MacBook Pro that is struggling to build modern Rust projects in reasonable time, so I'm curious about the M2- and M3-based MacBook Airs. I would like to do a quick, casual benchmark to get a rough idea of what kind of improvement I'd be looking at.

If you have Rust 1.83 installed, can you try this please? It should only take about 10 minutes all up.

$ cargo version
cargo 1.83.0 (5ffbef321 2024-10-29)

$ git clone --branch release-0.15.0 https://github.com/bevyengine/bevy.git

$ cd bevyengine/bevy.git
$ cargo fetch

$ cargo clean && time cargo build --example breakout
...
$ cargo clean && time cargo build --example breakout
...
$ cargo clean && time cargo build --example breakout
...

Please take the best of three, and let me know which model and how much RAM your MBA has too, please.

See if you can beat 220 seconds (my MBP 2017), or 90 seconds (a Dell XPS 17 from 2021).
