Is it a good idea to learn Rust for scientific computing?

The title, mostly. I'm studying physics, and I'm interested on simulating complex systems using networks, cellular automata, etc. I'm experienced with Python, but I find it painfully slow sometimes. I'm aware that there's some options for optimizing Python when using loops. I've never look into it, though. And honestly, my programs are a mess. Sufficient in the physics world, but would make a computer scientist cry.

Tried Julia, meh, also the prof that taught it to me was an a-hole. C/C++? Idk, not as exciting as a language with a cool asf crab as its mascot.

So, would Rust be useful for my purposes? I find it interesting enough to just learn it for the laughs but being able to apply it directly in my career would be nice.
