Do we need an new edition for stabilizing let chains?

What I mean is that the stabilization PR hasn't been merged: https://github.com/rust-lang/rust/pull/132833

I think I heard somewhere that we needed some breaking changes to allow them in stable Rust. Maybe those changes have been already implemented such that there's no hurry to merge this PR.

It would be very sad if we had to wait 3 more years for let chains.
