Hey /rust!

Over the last week i've been working on Drift

And AST parser that uses semantic learning with regex fallback to index out a codebase using meta data across 15 different categories and 400+ patterns expsoing this data through CLI or MCP to help map out conventions automatically and help AI agents write code that fits our codebase...

Upon users trying with "real" codebases I quickly ran into the node OOM trap and I was left with two ways forward

Hack around and increase the memory and pray it works

Rewrite most of my /core and swap to Rust...

The early numbers speak for themselves

Improvements Summary

Call Graph: JSON → SQLite Migration

Metric Before (JSON Shards) After (SQLite) Improvement

5,000 files 4.86s 1.11s 4.4x faster

10,000 files 19.57s 2.34s 8.4x faster

Drift is completely open sourced! It runs offline with no internet connection required and is the hidden tool that quite frankly cant believe didnt exist in this sense before last week.

Hope its able to help some of your work flows and appreciate any feedback and all the stars and upvotes recently!
