It turns out someone was writing Minecraft in Rust all this time. By themselves, without REA or heavy assist of AI. I can't say that the source code was written without AI, but every line of code was definitely reviewed by a human.
Today I saw a video about this project and I'm thrilled! A lot of attention and human effort has been put into it.
Description from author:
Weft is a block game engine where the game itself is just a mod, with CTM, colored lighting, cubic chunks, distant terrain, shaders, a recipe viewer, flying contraptions and friend-to-friend multiplayer all built in.
So, in order, it's rust Minecraft with create built-in, shaders built-in and global tick system, so unloaded chunk crops are still will grow! Just... Wow, I can't believe my eyes.
